I was browsing through our own site today, and went to the active legislation section. http://www.you2gov.com/index.php/Active-Legislation.html

This of course is the Official U.S. Senate and House bill tracking service, linked directly from You2Gov to the Senate and the House and Thomas, the Library of Congress Database.

I found this fascinating piece of legislation:

S.3268
Title: A bill to amend the Commodity Exchange Act, to prevent excessive price speculation with respect to energy commodities, and for other purposes.
Sponsor: Sen Reid, Harry [NV] (introduced 7/15/2008) Cosponsors (17)
Latest Major Action: 7/25/2008 Senate floor actions. Status: Motion by Senator Reid to reconsider the vote by which cloture on the measure was not invoked (Record Vote Number 184) entered in Senate.

Why is this not getting more attention? We are all paying high prices at the pump, it is costing the rich more and more to fill their jets. Everyone is feeling the pinch and they are arguing about how to lower costs, and here is a bill that is directed at lowering costs and bringing criminals to justice. What could be wrong with that? Apparently enough, that it is still stalled, and has not moved on to a joint House Senate bill that could be passed and sent on to the President.

I am going to contact my Senators Barbara Boxer and Senator Feinstein from right here on You2Gov at

I am also going to form a group, here on You2Gov, the Pass S. 3268 Group and see if we can bring in enough people through the social networking tools to become an effective lobbying group.
This is the CEO’s first lesson in using You2Gov to become your own lobbyist, to take Power back that you did not even know you were missing.

Watch this space for more quick tips on how to use You2Gov!
